A limo for two? Empty A limo for two?

Ok, so this doesn't really fit in any other category, so the general talk is probably the best place for it...

FH came to me and said he wanted to have a limo as transport between the ceremony and reception. I honestly had never considered getting a limo or any kind of rented car at all. Being we are paying for everything ourselves and we're doing stuff low budget, when I was kindda figuring things out and how much we could spend where, I just cut a limo out of the cost completely. I honestly figured we'd just drive in our car- decorated of course- and that the best man could drive us.

Well, he said he wanted a limo. Ok, that's fine with me. I was thinking, we could even do a rented car that wasn't a typical stretch limo either, cause we're only going to have 4 wedding party members and 1 or 2 ushers that we would just throw in there- so we could always get something different from the norm. But then when I said that, he said he wanted a limo just for the two of us. He wants us to have some quiet alone time to just be together between the ceremony and reception... which I think is a very romantic and sweet gesture- as it will be hectic and we'll get time to take it all in together.

So here's the deal... We can't afford to rent two limos/cars. So would it be rude of us to get a limo/car for just us and then have the rest of the wedding party drive themselves like we planned anyway?

I don't think it's rude. It's your wedding day not theirs. I mean i'd get one of those really cool stretched old cars and they can all just ride in one persons car. I always thought that only the bride and groom rode in the limo when people got them for transportation between places. Hmm... Things to think about.

All the weddings I've been in (or to) the wedding party rode with the bride and groom between ceremony and reception. I've also heard that some people include the parents of the bride and groom as well (if it's a small wedding party or a BIG limo). For me I guess it kindda seems silly to pay MORE money we don't have to pay to have our 4 wedding party members (and maybe 1 or 2 ushers) to have their own limo... Then again, I think it's silly that we rent a limo for just the two of us as well... but I kindda like his interlude idea. I think it's sweet that he wants some private time to reflect for just us- after all, we will have just gotten married, and it's a BIG day still to come. Quiet time I think is a great idea. Very Happy Sometimes he can actually be very romantic without even realizing it, hehe.

So you think us getting a limo or car of some sort and having the wedding party just drive in one or two of their own cars- decorated of course- would be alright then?

Nah, I think it would be fine to do just a limo for your guys. If I could suggest something, my aunt used a really classy black London cab to transport between the ceremony & reception. Here's a picture of one: http://www.ukstudentlife.com/Travel/Transport/Taxi/TaxiCab.jpg

It was so adorable!

HAHA, that's really cute! I've always wanted to try out one of those classic cars... The regular stretch limo is just overused at weddings. But, then again, it will probably be the cheapest, wouldn't you think?
